Throughout the Aztec period lots of artwork was created. Weaving was a women's job learned from the age of 14 and the men and women both made their own cloths and pots. There were also goldsmiths, feather workers, jewelers and painters.
The art of gold working was brought to the Aztec society by a group of Miztecs from Oaxaca. The gold would be panned from the riverbed and was then shaped into ornaments. This included masks, animals, earrings, chest ornaments, and armbands.
Most of the feathers were from the Quetzal. They lived in the high rain forests of central America. The male feathers were most valeuble to the Aztecs for their bright green and crimson colour.
